Varma Puffin blankets

An exceptionally warm wool blanket made from 100% Icelandic wool produced by our friends at Ístex. The blankets are knitted at the Varma knitting factory, making this a fully Icelandic design and production.

The puffin is the most common bird in Iceland, with its main habitats in the Westman Islands and Borgarfjörður Eystri. The puffin has, quite unexpectedly, become something of a mascot for us Icelanders—an incredibly colorful bird with a big and charming personality. Not many people know that there are countless color variations of the puffin, with fun names such as Soldán, Kóngur (King), Greifi (Count), Drottning (Queen), and Kolapiltur (Coal Boy), to name a few.
