VARMA has been a leader in the development and production of knitted wool products in Iceland since the company was founded in Akureyri in 1982.

We are now located in the middle of Reykjavík, even though it is almost unheard of that such an industry operates in this part of the world these days. You could say we are almost as uncommon as the Icelandic "geirfugl" - and we're proud of it!

We process our main raw material, Icelandic wool, and create products with it within it’s country of origin. This is the kind of value creation we believe in. We create jobs in Iceland, enhance human life and most importantly, we respect nature. For a long time, wool was one of Icelanders' main export products, and it is a great honor for us to protect history, this unique raw material and Icelandic production.
